VB News
• It was inspiring to see the girls all dressed up, supporting each other, enjoying the evening at the banquet. Relationships & memories built for a lifetime! Thank you to our helpers that came early to prepare. A list of the awards that were presented is on the blog site. If you would like a DVD of the video, please let me know.
• Here is a great project that MHS did...all extracurricular student groups starred in it. It's called "lip dub". Our broadcast journalism teacher is awesome! She is also the one that filmed one of our matches early in the season. Look for your own Lady Bulldog VB girls at the stairs close to the beginning.

• As we approach the holidays, we are reminded how fortunate we are. We have joined again with the other MHS girls' sports to assist a family in need. Their wishes were few...basically to have a Christmas for their 3 kids, who will be receiving a couple of gifts each. We have learned that the parents are struggling...bills to pay, very hard times for their family. We are asking every girl in athletics to spare $5 so that we can join together to help this family.
From our coaching staff to your families...We wish you a very Merry Christmas & a safe, enjoyable holiday. May God continue to bless us all.

After being down by 2 sets, the Lady Bulldog Varsity showed heart and determination in coming back to win games 3, 4, AND 5 over Brenham! With the GREAT crowd of Bulldog Backers cheering them on, the Lady Bulldogs found the grit and determination to hold off a strong Brenham team. Chelsea Reynolds & Madison Butler came in to help the Lady Dogs with the comeback. Hard-hitting, high-flying offense that we have come to expect from setter Paige Holland, OH Katzy Randall, OH/M Courtney Felinski, and OH/M Kylie Randall led the way. The Lady Bulldogs also had to step up their defense at the net and in the back row, where Latasha Jones & Shayna Daniels were key components in spurring their team to victory.
Thanks to all the students, parents, and fans that came all the way to Brenham & got LOUD for the team! We appreciate you!

Lady Bulldogs in the News
The Lady Bulldogs continue to be ranked at #3 in the Texas Girls Coaches Association State 4A poll, behind Lake Travis & JJ Pearce. Travis & Pearce seem to have a lock on the top 2 spots after defeating the Lady Bulldogs in the pre-season...but watch out for the post season!!
Among the Lady Bulldog varsity players that were recognized this week in the Houston Chronicle Volleyball Notes & Stats:
Paige Holland: Leading the area in set assists as well as setting a record in assists
Katzy Randall: 2nd in kills per game and 4th in 4A in digs
Courtney Felinski: 4th in kills per game
Kylie Randall: 8th in kills per game
Quite an honor for all! And we are looking forward to seeing them as they lead their team into the next half of district!

Dogs Ruin Bears Streak
WOW!
As one fan put it:
"Price of admission to an awesome volleyball match? $3.00
Price of a coke that you CAN'T take in the gym? $2.00
Taking a picture by that Montgomery sign in the gym after kicking their butt? PRICELESS!"
It was another match to remember, as your Magnolia Varsity went out strong in sets 1 & 2 in total control. In set 3, the Dogs stepped away as the Bears got aggressive serving. But the Lady Bulldogs rallied to serve tough and put the Bears on their heels to win a barn burner in game 4, 26-24!!
GO DOGS! Next victim: West

BATON ROUGE - After earning Tiger Classic MVP accolades over the weekend, Michele Williams picked up SEC Offensive Player of the Week Monday as announced by the league office. It's the third career weekly award for Williams from the SEC.
"We're extremely proud of Michele," head coach Fran Flory said. "She's been a big part of our success during non-conference and it's a direct reflection of her hard work during the offseason. Our goal on offense is to get her as many balls as possible when we can create opportunities for her."
Williams buried 45 kills at a 3.75 per set ratio and connected for an impressive .405 hitting percentage as LSU defeated North Carolina, Rice and New Mexico State to improve to 9-0 for the first time since the 1991 season. Her .371 clip for the season ranks fifth, while her 1.00 blocks per set are 10th in the SEC.
Williams provided at least five kills in five of her 12 sets of action at the Tiger Classic and powered home a career-best 20 kills against Rice. The Magnolia, Texas, native also tacked on 16 kills during LSU's thrilling five-set triumph over New Mexico State.
LSU heads into SEC play Friday with its annual "Gold Match" in addition to "Student Point Night" against Auburn. First serve is on-tap for 7 p.m. and fans following @lsuvolleyball on Twitter are eligible to win four tickets to the LSU football home opener against Mississippi State. The first 400 students also receive a "Gold Diggers" T-Shirt.
Live video and live stats are available in the Geaux Zone on LSUsports.net. Fans also can follow live in-match updates on the team's official

On to the GOLD BRACKET!!
First victim: Georgetown, Magnolia Won 2-0 (25-23, 25-22)
Next victim: Seven Lakes...this team has been making a move with quality wins at the Katy tourney last week, but it was not enough to beat the Bulldogs...Magnolia Won 2-1 (25-19, 24-26, 25-20)
This sets up a showdown with #3 Pearce and moves us into the round of TOP 16...and it was a battle from beginning to end...with the final score 23-25, 24-26...and with a couple of questionable ball handling & line call...the second set could have changed...
The Lady Bulldogs didn't let the close loss to Pearce stop their journey...beginning play on Saturday vying for the #9 spot...and winning the next match over a familiar foe from Tuesday night: The Woodlands, Magnolia Won AGAIN 2-1 (25-23, 15-25, 25-22)
Next up was Cy-Woods, ranked #6 in the Texas Top 20 and #1 in 5A by the Texas Girls Coaches Association. Although we came up short with a 16-25, 16-25 loss...the team had TONS of BULLDOG PRIDE in this finish!
The BEST by a Bulldog team EVER at the Pearland Classic!! We finished tied for #11-#12. In this tourney of 76 quality teams...a GREAT achievement!!
Stats for matches will be posted on Monday! Congrats to Courtney Felinski, who stepped up her play as a senior leader on this squad throughout the tourney & was named to the "Best of the Best" All Tournament Team!
