Lady Bulldog Caitlin Holland showing perfect form while quick
setting to an attacking MB Hannah Fort in Game 3 against Cy Falls.
The Magnolia Lady Bulldogs (4-2) continued in their quest for the District 17-5A heirarchy with their bruising offense and stingy defense and a 'business-as-usual' approach while blasting the Cy Falls Lady Eagles (3-3) out of the friendly confines of their nest and in the ground once-and-for-all. Kudos go to Alicia Shaffer (good hitting throughout and great block assist at the end), Michele Williams (great kill in the middle of the game to go up by 6 at 13-7 AND her patented ''Williams' Glide'' kill at 25-20) and Heather Bowden (big hit at 23-17 coupled with great defense)! Hannah Fort chipped in with a great kill to put the Lady Bulldogs in a match 'death-grip' at 24-19. The digging and passing was good, deserving of high marks, and the setting was spread around very effectively as Caitlin Holland and Mary Chadwick worked real hard making their team mates look real good! All the ladies played consistent, cohesive and aggressive volleyball and kept their intensity level 'way up there' (where no Eagles dare) from the start of the match to boarding the bus for the ride home! I wonder what Coach J fed the ladies tonight - raw meat?!! Looking through the windows at their happy and sweaty faces - it looked to me like they still wanted more....
