Lady Bulldogs Reaching for the Brass Ring

Couldn't resist this one...For years, basketball and volleyball tournament fans alike
have been coming to Duncanville and honoring the memory of the late, great coach -
Sandra Meadows who is the greatest ladies coach in the history of the Texas Hall of
Fame. Previously, the tournament was played at several venues, but since the
completion of the Sandra Meadows Memorial Arena several years ago - the
outstanding facilities are now home to one of the larger, more prestegious
volleyball tournaments in the country.

Wow, the Lady Bulldogs are in tall cotton here in Duncanville and are in the finals for the Consolation bracket. There are only 4 trophies to be given out for team standings with the First and Second Place teams (Amarillo and Plano West) and the First Place and Second Place consolation teams (Lake Highlands and Magnolia) and for the 'first timer' Magnolia Lady Bulldogs - well, their unexpected fortune is one that is rarely accomplished in this tournament by a 'newbie'. This team is special though, and can accomplish many things and just may be experiencing these great results by focusing on their game, one point-at-a-time...

Click on the picture and get a close up view of this. Very moving...
Well, Lake Highlands has plans of their own and are another "physical" opponent and have looked equally as impressive as they've marched their way into the finals, as well. The Lady Bulldogs are giving it all they've got, but are trailing Lake Highlands when we join this audio file at: 15-20.

Thanks for posting the pic. Us here in North Texas will never forget Sandra Meadows. She was a truly remarkable person and coach. It was great to meet and talk with all the nice Magnolia Bulldog fans. Here is to Magnolia putting a whopping on Tomball. BigTex 8:08 PM
