Lady Dawgs Ace Mavericks

For the second time in as many years, the Magnolia Lady Bulldogs are playing on coveted ground in Duncanville. The Lady Dawgs have reached the semi-finals with an overpowering win, going away at 25-17 against a very good Round Rock McNeil squad who had earlier taken care of the Allen Lady Eagles in two sets.

Magnolia got past McNeil with all of their arsenal clicking and attacking from all angles. Michele 'Boom Boom' Williams continued her torrid 'kill pace' with a blast, early at 2-2 followed by a Kelli Stewart ace serve at 3-2 and a couple of Jamie Kaleh kills later the DAWGS were pulling out in front of the Mavericks with the score at 8-3. It was all Magnolia needed, never looking back - while maintaing a lead that stretched at one point to 9 points. A couple of Alicia Shaffer kills, one at 13-7 and again at 15-7 helped seal the Lady Mavericks' fate, another 'Boom Boom Glide' at 17-11; and finally, a Williams/Stewart combo block wall, errrr assist, put the DAWGS at 19-11 and virtually untouchable for the rest of the match.

Here's an audio file starting at 20-11, and yes, you may be able to hear DAWGS barking in the background - some of Magnolia's best fans were starting to feel pretty good!:
