2007 Lady Bulldog Season Opener

Calling all DAWGS.........Calling all DAWGS:

Hello, Magnolia Lady Bulldog Volleyball fans and welcome to the start of the 2007 Lady Bulldog volleyball season! Yep, it may seem as though the season has finally arrived for all of the anxious Magnolia fans, but it probably feels as though the time and preparation has been dragging on ever so slowly and then suddenly thrust upon these hard working athletes! The ladies have been working extra hard since last December; then enduring their respective long, volleyball club seasons and post-season tournaments; then Performance and Training camps; yaddi yaddi; then more individual training with maybe a 1 week break for a summer vacation; then on to weight training and a summer league schedule; and finally continuing a year-long playing schedule through the school pre-season only to start the whole process over again.

All in all, they've apparently held up remarkably well and actually look more like Ladies on a Mission; confident and undaunted by the blazing Texas heat, 2-a-day workouts and scrimmages seemingly against every kind of opponent who would like nothing more - than to knock them off their feet. These distractions have not deterred the team and coaches in their preparations for making their run at this year's Texas 5A State UIL Volleyball Championship. The Lady Bulldogs have looked pretty impressive while scratching their best paws forward and the general feeling from almost all who have been observing has "the team looking even better than last year's team at this same point." The Lady Bulldogs core have maintained a perfect, undefeated record through their summer league and now into their pre-season, and it's no secret - this year's edition is well seasoned with more talented height and depth across all the skilled positions. That's not to say that during the season, some talented, young gunslinger won't also elbow her way onto the court and make her presence known as she may be needed and must be prepared to step in and contribute at any given moment. With the tough, pre-district schedule and post season opponents this year - the ladies are going to need any and every extra "edge" to grind their way to the top! At this junction, the DAWG pack looks set and ready to go!

In this week's Bulldog Volleyball, Coach J stated, "I was so impressed with our kids play on Friday & Saturday. The freshmen were at Magnolia West & the coaches tell me that they both did a good job, ran some offensive plays, and had lots of wins! The JV and Varsity also looked awesome!"

Well, LADY BULLDOG fans... now it's our turn! Let's pack the DAWG HOUSE and wake any and all sleeping DAWG fans and fill the bleacher seats with a loud, cheering DAWGIE Nation of rabid fans as our ladies open their season Tuesday, August 14th 6:00PM taking on a tough, state ranked opponent: the Dulles Lady Vikings. Yes, you got it..! The very same pedigreed LADY VIKES who plundered the LADY BULLDOGS in their home opener last year in 3 straight sets, enroute to a pretty awesome season themselves (33-7) finishing as state Regional III finalists! Let's see if we can return the favor and be even BETTER HOSTS this time around!

After Tuesday's match, the ladies will have to be up early the next morning to stay on the following schedule:
