Forest. Michele finished the night with 10 Kills.
The Magnolia Lady Bulldogs came back to the friendly confines of the 'Dawg House' Friday night to put on a show for the hometown fans by ripping into the Klein Forest Lady Golden Eagles in 3 straight games (25-9, 25-16, and 25-16) for their 6th sweep of the young season. The fans were treated to a display of domination from the beginning and were very appreciative. The Lady Bulldogs (7-1 matches, 18-3 games) were led by All-District middle Michele Williams who put 10 kills on the floor - almost all were slammers with perfect, downward trajectories that might have left imprints on the floor. Michele controlled the middle with ease and even had a moment to catch up on some well deserved 'rest' (after practicing and playing 12 games in 4 days) by sitting out and cheering on Kelli Stewart almost the whole Game #2. Hannah Fort, Heather Bowden and Kelli Stewart both controlled the net in supporting roles and provided too much firepower for the falling Lady Eagles and also earned several T-shirts for some lucky fans with their block points.
In earlier action, the Lady Bulldogs JV team continued their undefeated ways by pounding the Lady Eagles JV in 2 straight to raise their record to (4-0) in matches and (8-0) in games. It's beginning to look like Magnolia has a volleyball "farming system" that will continue to put talented, tall ladies in future line-ups for years to come and envied by many schools, NOW!!
The JV will be on the road on Saturday traveling to Bryan, TX for the Bryan Tournament.
Next up for the Lady Bulldogs: 8/23 Tues 6:00 PM vs Oak Ridge at HOME *
8/25 Thurs Spring Branch Tournament AWAY
8/26 Fri 6:00 PM vs Cinco Ranch at HOME *
*Come early for the HOME games. The ladies have been starting their games a little early, as the JV team seems to be sweeping every match leaving too much time between the JV and Varsity games. Besides, you can get a good seat before they are all taken!! The ladies need your support as these high powered teams will bring their fans into the Dawg House and will be cheering them on.
