DAWGS Finish Off Cavs in a Sweep

The DAWGS continued their feeding frenzy in this third set - chewing up the Lady Cavs while jumping out to a 11-3 lead. Kelli Stewart started it out at 1-0 with a shot down the left line; then Jamie Kaleh blasted one off the Cavs' hands at 2-2; then Stewart again with an ace serve at 4-2; a couple of Boom Boom Williams' "Richter-like" shockers at 6-2 and down the line at 7-2; then a massive, 'DAWGIE - pile' of a block at the middle of the net by seemingly the whole team; and then...capping the earned scoring spree off at 10-3 came from high flyin' outside hitter Jamie Kalehs' best kill shot of the night that cleared the net coming straight down over the Cavs and well within the 10' line. That one got the players, coaches and Lady Bulldog howling fans jumping right out of their seats and high five-ing each other while forcing the Cavs to re-group and burn an early time out!!

OH Jamie Kaleh (7) rocked the house leaving Alicia Shaffer

(and the Bulldog fans) breathless with her shot at 10-3.

The Lady Bulldogs kept the edge at 17-9 behind great TEAM play and some timely blasts by the usual suspects: Boom Boom Williams, Kelli Stewart, Jamie Kaleh, and Hannah Fort. The lethal combination continued to put the pressure on without letting up and the Lady Cavs had no answers. The Lady Bulldogs blew College Park out of their own gym, silencing the partisan home crowd with a 10 point lead at 21-11...then coasted to a satisfying 7 point victory and a clean sweep of a very worthy opponent. Tonight the DAWGS would howl at the big, bright, full moon ... they'd earned it!
