The Lady Bulldogs JV put on a clinic tonight showing Cy Springs how to properly utilize an attacking offense and a stingy defense while sweeping the error prone Lady Panthers in two games 25-14 and 25-16. The ladies played very well earning their second sweep this season at the Lady Panther's expense, and seemed to be clicking on all cylinders against their district adversary.
Game #1 started with a Hannah Davies 'ace' serve and was followed up by a Kati Michael kill and Magnolia was holding a lead at 4-2 when Jamie Paulson opened the gap with a scoring barrage single-handedly: a kill at 5-3; a blocked point to make it 6-3; a dink at 8-4; 3 consecutive ace serves to make it 11-4; and a couple of errors later - Cy Springs was ready to call a time out at 13-6. The next barrage from the Bullpups was initiated when Chelsea Jackson hammered a kill at 15-7; Katie Kreft followed with a kill at 16-7; Kati Michael at 17-7; then MB Chelsea Jackson blocked Cy's attack at 18-7; only to be followed again by a Katie Kreft kill at 19-8. A couple of errors later and Cy Springs needed to use their last timeout at 21-9. Whew! All the Bullpups had to do was trade points at the this point with a Kati Michael kill at 22-10 and Jamie Paulson kill at 23-12 and throw in some errors and.....check, please! 25-14.

great form on this dig against Cy Springs.
The Bullpups wasted no time in Game #2 and jumped on the Lady Panthers immediately with a Chelsea Jackson kill at 1-0 and block at 2-1 and then tightened the leash on the Panthers defensively, forcing several errors. Chelsea had another block at 9-4 and an error later - the first time out by Cy had to be used at 10-4. The Lady Panthers began to play a little better and the fans were treated to a great volley that culminated minutes later when Chelsea Jackson slammed a kill to the floor at 14-7. Lady Bullpup MB Breanne Matula had a great kill shot down the court line at 18-12 and had another kill at 19-12, when Katie Kreft wanted to join the fun with a cross court kill at 20-12 and the Lady Panthers were scampering to another time out. Again, the Lady Bulldogs JV put on the cruise control and pushed ahead with a "Happy Birthday" kill from Chelsea Jackson, a serving ace by Sydney O'Neal at 24-14 and a final hit off the Lady Panthers' hands by Chelsea at 25-16 and Cy Springs night was cut short.
A duo that hopefully will be enjoyed by Magnolia fans for years to come. Jamie

The Bullpups won both games leading from start to finish and looked relaxed out there while they were having fun. Their record stands at 5-6 in district play with a Friday night game against the Cy Fair Lady Bobcats JV AWAY at 5:00 PM.
