Again the Bullpups used their power and agility to their advantage and took an quick lead in their first set behind a MB Breann Matula kill at 1-1; a couple of OHR Michelle Larson kills at 2-2 and 4-3; then a pair of OHL Katie Kreft kills - first at the right side of the court, then at the left side to put them up at 6-3. The PUPS opened it up behind a MB Meagan Little block at 8-3; OHR Chelsea Jackson kill on the right at 9-4; then a OH Jamie Paulson kill off the Lady War Eagles' feathers,...errr..hands at 10-4 and again at 16-7. Another Breann Matula kill later at 19-7; a Katie Kreft blast at 23-11; and a patented Michelle Larson "change-up" kill shot kept the lead comfortable at 12 points at 24-12 until an error advanced the PUPS to a 25-12 victory.....and the hunt was afoot!
The second set was a tighter game and was an "Error-fest" or "Errorpoluza"..... whatever! The Bullpups took an early lead at 6-3, but fell behind at 8-9 until OHR Chelsea Jackson got the ladies going with a shot at 13-12 and they never looked back. A Meagan Little kill off the hands of the defenders at 16-14; then a pair of kills from Jamie Paulson (at 17-16 and 18-16) and an Angela Yzaguirre ace at 21-20 kept the PUPS a 'whisker' ahead of the Lady War Eagles. Oak Ridge tried to hang with the DAWGS but were outscored 5-0 at the finish of this set and Breann Matula ended their evening 25-20 with a hammer shot - just as she started it and the Bulldogs JV have another feather in their caps... and this one is authentic!
GREAT JOB PUPS!! KEEP PUSHING FORWARD!!
