Lady Bulldogs Take First Step in District Win

Lady Bulldogs in action: setter Caitlin Holland and
MB Hannah Fort again, both had productive evenings...

The Magnolia Lady Bulldogs took the first big step in closing out their initial goal of earning the District 15-5A Championship by taking care of the business that was right there in front of them. Again, the DAWGS dominated the game in the middle of the court with a barrage of Michele Williams' missles, Hannah Fort kills from her Glide, and then shutting down Lufkin's MB Stacy Foster by blocking almost every attempt she could muster and rendering her "ineffective". The outside hitters were 'on' behind a strong showing from Kristyn Bergen, Alicia Shaffer, Jamie Kaleh, and Kelli Stewart who also controlled the match - frustrating the Lady Panthers who had no answers to this 'feeding frenzy'.

The Lady Bulldogs took the lead from the beginning and held it throughout the set. The DAWGS were having their way with the Lady Panthers at 9-2 behind their power and versatility at the net, stingy defense, and strategic passing when Kelli Stewart and Hannah Fort set the tone for the evening by stuffing Ms. Foster at 14-5. Everyone in the gymnasium "knew it" at that point going forward, that the Lady Bulldogs meant business. This audio file picks up at 17-7...DAWGS in front!
