I just heard from my roving reporter and partner (Rusty "Kibbles") that the Magnolia Lady Bulldogs swept their district rival Tomball Lady Cougars by scores of 25-21 and 26-24 at the Katy Tournament this Friday 8/19. The Lady Bulldogs then faced the Kempner Lady Cougars and handled them 25-21 and 25-19 to complete the sweep of both (best-of-three) matches. Way to go, Ladies!!
The Silver Championship apparently will be split with Magnolia and the CyFair Lady Bobcats or will have to be decided in a couple of weeks when the Lady Bobcats and the Lady Bulldogs tangle in their district openers. The Katy Tournament scheduled times were running over an hour late and the window of 'travel' time back to their respective campuses was becoming critically narrow- so the coaches decided to settle this later;..."Texas Style".
The Lady Bulldogs record now stands at: Matches (6-1) and Games (15-3). They must be very tired with the traveling and game times - and they still have an 6:00 PM tip-off with Klein Forest scheduled tonite...and to play so strong - what a great effort!!
