……The Montgomery High School Lady Bears volleyball team continues to impress everyone as the No. 3 area-ranked team with a (12-3, 1-0 district) record?

….that Lady Bulldog Ashley Meeks who had a career (serving) evening against the Klein Oak Lady Panthers - finished the night with a personal best eight aces?

….. that the Pearland tournament which the Lady Bulldogs finished 8th in, hailed 64-squads from around the state of Texas, including 17 teams ranked in the Top 20?

…… that junior MB Nneka Ogwumike from the Cy-Fair Lady Bobcats - averaged 18 kills a game in the Pearland Tournament over the weekend? (apparently the Houston Chronicle didn’t verify/review their statistics before posting their results – actually Nneka averaged 4.17 kills/game).

….the Austin Statesmen newspaper has begun running its weekly top 10 with New Braunfels (4A) on top with Westlake close behind?

….. that former Lady Bulldog OHR Heather Bowden (2005), who is now the setter for the St. Thomas Lady Celts– led her team to their opening victory by defeating Concordia University in Austin over the weekend? Heather and her team mates are carving out the first women's volleyball team in their 59-year history...what a pioneer!

…. that the 2006 TGCA Volleyball Poll for Week #3 (9/4/06) came out with three 5A teams from the Houston area in the top 15 and Magnolia has defeated 2 of the 3? (# 7 Dulles; # 11 Houston Stratford; and # 15 Cinco Ranch).

…. Michael Dell, who founded the Dell Computer Corporation in 1984 with nothing more than $1,000 and an idea, graduated from Memorial High School? Dell was attending the University of Texas where he began selling computers from his dorm room....

….. that arguably the best lady volleyball player ever to play and graduate from Cy Falls High School (’96): All-America candidate Jennifer Wittenburg - worked hard to come back from a host of injuries to be granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA in the spring of 2001?
