Lady Bulldogs in Pearland

And another update.....9/1....2:27 PM: Magnolia takes Elkins down in 3 (23-25, 25-22, and 25-12). Great job ladies!! Their next match in Pearland will be tomorrow morning at 10:45 AM Court 6.

Also, elsewhere: SA Reagan came back in game two as the top-ranked Rattlers rallied from a huge hole to knock off a stubborn Highland Park team 25-16, 25-19.

Amarillo rolled into the semifinals with a 25-15, 25-18 sweep of Smithson Valley.

The New Braunfels Lady Unicorns defeated SA Churchill and will be one of the semifinalists.

Memorial takes first game from Westlake 29-27 and Westlake takes the second game 25-19. Match now even. Wow, what a match!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Smithson Valley advanced over Dulles in the third game winning 25-23. Both teams were very evenly matched, but crucial errors were the difference at the end of the two games Dulles lost -- passing and being in the net.

An update: Magnolia defeated SA Clark handily by sweeping the match in 2 sets. Next up is the winner of the Clear Brook and Elkins match at 1:15PM Ct. 3. We'll pass on the scores as soon as we get them.

In other brackets:
SA Churchill defeated Stratford in 3. Stratford scored 7 straight points at the end of game 1 to win at 25-22 and and led for most of the second game. In control for almost the entire 2nd game, Stratford experiences passing problems (reportedly) near crunch time and drops six consecutive points. Churchill comes back and wins the second game 25-20. Stratford's passing woes continued in the third game and they fell behind 15-5 and attempted a massive rally, but Churchill maintained control.

Amarillo rolled over Cy-Fair in two sets 25-16, 25-19.

New Braunfels swept Allen.

Highland Park defeats Cinco Ranch in three.

Memorial over Lake Highlands in 3

Westlake sweeps Katy Taylor
Memorial v/s Westlake match later this afternoon.

Words cannot describe this!!.......(How proud Alicia's, Michele's, and Kristen's
fathers must be - their daughters can do a great impression of the 3 Stooges)
...actually, the ladies are having a little fun between matches.

The Lady Bulldogs are in battle this morning for the Consolation Gold Bracket with the following teams:

The Lady Bulldogs road, so far at the Pearland Tournament looks like this:

Magnolia (10-5); M. Williams – 13 kills defeated Alvin; C. Deleon – 12 kills 25-14; 18-25; 25-22 in the 1st Round.

Lady Bulldog Michele Williams gave Westlake all

they could handle (and more) in their match.

Westlake (17-2); M. Aune – 12 kills defeated Magnolia (10-6); M. Williams – 8 kills 25-17; 25-19 in the Winners (2nd round).

What a great shot!! It's hard to comprehend how much work these ladies put into this
game. When you see the effort that is being put into this ONE play, it's pretty
amazing When you realize these players probably played around 450-480 plays in
the last 3 days -it's downright impressive!
Magnolia (11-6); A. Shaffer-6 kills defeated Cedar Park 25-14, 25-17 in the Consolation Gold Bracket – 2nd Rd.

The Lady Bulldogs were playing some great DEFENSE in the Cedar Park
match. Here's Mandi Gray and Alicia Shaffer ready to dig to low hit.
