DAWGS Control Tigers' Den

The Magnolia Lady Bulldogs started the second half of their quest to the 15-5A district championship in grand style Tuesday night against a very determined and pesky Conroe Lady Tigerette squad. Though some may have thought Magnolia was due to stumble, especially against such an opportune rival (playing at their home court) - the DAWGS had no such thoughts and methodically just went out to play while taking care of their business!

The teams traded points in the beginning of this set, but once Magnolia tied the game at 3-3, they jumped ahead and never lost the lead. The DAWGS moved forward scoring 7 points to Conroe's 4 to be in the driver's seat at 10-7 - as Kelli Stewart and Jamie Kaleh pounded 'em with their version of medieval pressure until the rotation made it's turn, as Michele Williams began the surge with a blast (looked like it could've been in side of the 5' line) at 12-8; then Kelli jammed them with an awesome backrow kill at 13-8 and the DAWGS went into a 'hyper-DAWGIE D' mode and onto a 12 to 2 run to close out their hosts by a 25-10 score. Impressive start!! Here's a little audio file:

The DAWGS poured on the defense when they needed to as they outdistanced the Tigerettes.
