2007 Lady Bulldogs 15-5A District Champs!

After blowing the War Eagles away in the second set, it was just a formality when the teams took the court for the final game. It wasn't pretty to watch, especially if you were an Oak Ridge fan, but who could turn away? The DAWGS kept tearing into and shredding the the War Eagles like a uneditted National Geographic wildlife film while knowing in the back of your mind, that nature's number one rule has always been: "Only the strong survive". Still one can't turn away as one animal in the kingdom hunts, traps and finishes off another while completely and naturally completing the cycle of life! It was just the Lady Bulldogs moment to be at the top of the food chain!! The ladies have been on the hunt together for years and it is time to relish a little of the good stuff...

tried to contain their excitement before the Oak Ridge match.

The DAWGS would have as much as a 15 point edge over the shell shocked Lady War Eagles as the DAWGS unleashed their attack behind more of the same: good defense, great passing, pounding kill shots and timely blocks from Kelli Stewart (5 kills for the evening, and 1 block assist), Michele Williams (11 kills, 1 solo block and 2 block assists), Meagan Little (2 kills, 2 block assists), Jamie Kaleh (3 kills, 1 block assist, 9 digs,), Hannah Fort (7 kills, 3 assist blocks); and deadly serving from Alicia Shaffer (4 aces, and 6 digs), Kelli Stewart (3 aces), Brittany Wheaton (2 aces and 11 digs), Hannah Davies (1 ace, 5 digs, and 16 assists) and Paige Holland (1 ace and 16 assists).

Now, that's more like it!!

Coach J gave the ladies a little time to enjoy their conquest and gave some players a rest, but the DAWGS kept stoking the fire and cruised to a 25-12 finish and their 8th district win with no losses and a clean sweep record of 24 games against no losses, intact as well. With a win Tuesday night over Oak Ridge, the Lady Bulldog Varsity Volleyball Team clinched the 15-5A District Championship!! The Lady Dogs, who are 8-0 in district matches (24-0 in games), have 2 more district matches to go.

Come out and enjoy the fun on Friday in the Dog House at 6 pm (JV @ 5 pm). After Friday's match, we will have a reception in the gym honoring our seniors on their last home match (going for 23 in a row undefeated at home)!


Next Tuesday, join us in the last district match at Woodlands & help us stay undefeated!!
