Lady Bulldogs Maul Lady Lions

The Magnolia Lady Bulldogs officially began their run at the state playoffs this evening by mauling the Spring Lady Lions in the opening set by a score of 25-15. In doing so the DAWGS embarked on their 33 game/set winning streak by utilizing an overpowering offense that came after the scattered Lions from everywhere while mixing in a lethal combination of deadly serves. The DAWGS had a total of 12 Aces from 5 different players for the evening and had the Lions on their back paws with the others.

The Lions were going to the DAWGS tonight!!

The Lady Lions started strong in this set by jumping out to an early lead while the slow moving DAWGS seemed to be having a hard time getting it together. The Lionettes had Magnolia's play looking sloppy behind their 5 point lead at 11-6 when the DAWGS suddenly awoke and pulled their 'A' game together. It took an Alicia Shaffer kill at 7-11 to ignite a 5 to 1 point stretch and to thoroughly invigorate the DAWGS by putting nitro in their tank!

Magnolia blew the game wide open by scoring 13 points to Spring's 3 and deflated the skiddish Lions. In the run, Shaffer had a slew of ace serves and a couple of kills (one from the backrow); coupled with Michele 'Boom Boom' Williams who had her patented Glide SlammaJammaRoosky kills working (including one Excedrin Strength blast off a poor Lionette's head); and a bunch of errors thrown in from the bewildered pride of Lions that made the slow start by the DAWGS to start this game, just a faint memory.

The appreciative crowd began their howling as the DAWGS once again took care of their business 25-15, and started to rock the DAWG House! The DAWGS meanwhile, began to regroup...licking their chops and sharpening their claws...

GO LADY BULLDOGS!!! BULLDOG PRIDE!!!
