The ladies finally lost their composure!! And why not? You're
looking at the 2007 15-5A district champion Magnolia Lady Bulldogs!!
The reigning District 15-5A womens' volleyball champions made it a night to remember as the 2007 Magnolia Lady Bulldogs pummeled the Lady Highlanders from The Woodlands in 3 straight, leaving a back-to-back legacy to the throne as repeat district champions while being the newest members in this district. The DAWGS did it in fine fashion as they finished play this year- undefeated in district matches (10-0 with 20 wins in 2 years) 30 district game/set wins with no losses (60-1 in 2 years) and have ruled the roost since joining the 15-5A district two years ago.Lady Bulldogs Hannah Davies and Brittany Wheaton continue to play great defense!
This night belonged to Magnolia as the DAWGS jumped out to a 4 point lead at 4-0 and were in control for the rest of the set. The Lady Highlanders had no answer for the DAWGS' attack as the quick set in the middle worked to perfection. Michele Williams 17 kills for the evening were predominately either on the fly or quickly set by Hannah Davies and blasted quickly through the seam in the middle. Hannah Fort also was able to take advantage of the openings and did another exceptional job blocking and going after any attack attempt. Once that strategy worked, the outside lanes became lethal for the hitters such as Kelli Stewart and Jamie Kaleh, Alicia Shaffer, and Meagan Little, and things don't look so good when you're on the other side of the net when it's like this! The DAWGS stretched the lead to 8 at 17-9 behind their onslaught and quickly made short work of their match with a 25-16 victory for their final district sweep of the season.
