DAWGS Hammer the Birds

Set 2, and the Lady Bulldogs have their 'sea legs' on and were setting out to go after the Lady War Eagles with a vengeance. The DAWGS pounced on 'em from the beginning, unfazed by the unruly, partisan home crowd of students standing on the court boundaries while blocking the spectators view and trying to rally their spinning Lady War Eagles. Actually, it worked against them as a more determined Lady Bulldog team started the game off with an Alicia Shaffer ace serve; then a Kelli Stewart/Michele Williams assist block; then another Shaffer ace; then a couple of crippling blows by Michele 'Boom Boom' Williams; and few errors later...the War Eagles were looking at the scoreboard as they were trailing at 11-3 and BTW, their nest was on fire!

Lady Bulldog junior setter Hannah Davies kept her team mates focused

with her crisp setting and the Lady War Eagles guessing with her dink shots.

It was all that was needed to disenchant the hooligans as they broke it up (with the help of a school official) and quietly went back to their seats (where they stood for the remainder of the match with not a lot to cheer about). Of course, the DAWGS were oblivious to all of this as they opened their lead to 15 points behind some mauling offensive maneuvers by OHR Meagan Little's hit off their hands at 12-3; a Kelli Stewart ace at 13-3; a 'Boom Boom' imprint inside the 10' line at 14-4; a couple of blocks, hits, and Oak Ridge errors.... yaddi, yaddi...!!!

The DAWGS were right in the middle of their stride at 21-6 when they mercifully pulled back and basically traded points for the remainder of the game, as some of the home fans began leaving a little early. They had seen enough. The DAWGS are for real! Here's a file ... (I had a hard time keeping myself from gloating):
