Dawgs "Hold 'Em" Lady Mavericks 'Texas Style'

The first set against the surging Round Rock McNeil Lady Mavericks opened with the Lady Bulldogs establishing their position with a lethal combination of overpowering offense and a rejuvinated, stingy defense. Case in point: MB Michelle Williams rocks the house with an opening kill at 1-0 before the Lady Mavericks could even shuffle their cards; Jamie Kaleh follows up immediately with a great block at 2-0; then Kelli Stewart and Michele Williams team up quickly for a block at 3-0; Jamie again with a kill at 4-1, Kelli with an ace serve at 5-1 and ....... you get the idea.

The Lady Bulldogs emerged as a hungry pack of DAWGS as everyone was getting in on the action. Ashlynn Newman put a shot down at 6-3, Hannah Fort had a kill at 8-4, then added a block assist with Alicia Shaffer at 10-5; and it was off to the races at that point. McNeil made a run at the DAWGS in the latter half of the set, but could just not catch up with the DAWGS. Magnolia had a spark and higher aspirations and would not yield. Michele Williams had 6 Kills in this set with several of her Block Assists; OH Jamie Kaleh played perhaps her finest game at a time when more was on the line than ever. Kelli Stewart and Alicia kept the Mavericks folding with their serving and timely kills; DS Brittany Wheaton played an awesome game with her passing and also had an 'Ace' to her credit. Here's an audio file starting with the score at 20-17:
