DAWGS Sweep Falcons Out of DAWG House

It's always great to have the DAWGIE Nation student body back in the House!!

The Magnolia Lady Bulldogs put the "pedal to the metal" tonight at the DAWG House and overwhelmed the Lady Falcons from Jersey Village in 3 quick sets 25-10, 25-15 and 25-20. The team was running like a fine tuned machine with great hitting, blocking, passing, serving, digging, and setting and when it's working like it was - either get on, or get out of the way!

Lady Bulldog junior Hannah Davies kept the Lady

Falcons guessing all night where the play was going!

LSU bound senior MB Michele Williams lit the house up for 19 Kills, 1 solo block and 2 Block Assists, while OH/All Around Alicia Shaffer skinned 9 kills, 7 Digs and 3 Aces; and the ball was spread around nicely. Hannah Davies had a great match dishing out 24 assists while Paige Holland followed with 9 - and both kept hitters Kelli Stewart and Jamie Kaleh in the mix with 4 kills apiece. Jamie also had a busy night with 2 Block Assists. Ashlynn Newman, Meagan Little, Hannah Fort and Katie Kreft had a kill apiece. Libero Brittany Wheaton had another outstanding evening with 7 Digs and 2 Aces to her credit. Another great TEAM effort!!

What a night for Michele Williams! 19 Kills with 1 Solo and 2 Block Assists.

The DAWGS jumped on the Lady Falcons in the first set 5-0 behind Michele Williams' dominance in the front line and some nifty serving by Alicia Shaffer and went on a tear from there driving their advantage to a 16-3 lead behind some great hitting by Kelli Stewart and a bevy of Michele Williams' slamma-rooskies that rocked the foundation in the House. The DAWGS coasted from there outscoring the Falcons 9 to 7 and finish 25-10.

Set 2 ... pretty much the same cast of characters and same great DAWG play, though the Lady Falcons continued to work hard while elevating their level of play. Coach J was able to weave some 'game-hungry' DAWGS onto the court to gain some valuable playing experience during these two games while the action was intense and the ladies performed very well. The ladies maintained a steady lead after breaking free of a 4-4 tie; then began building another run of points at a solid pace from 2 point advantage to 3, to 4, to 5, to 6, to 7,..and up to 10; while doing just about everything right! You gotta love it when it all comes together like this! Set 2 is inscribed: Magnolia 25 Jersey Village 15.

Set 3...much of the same and Jersey Village was not giving in... Again the DAWGS jumped out front, but the Lady Falcons caught up at 9-9 and went ahead briefly at 12 to 11. A Katie Kreft kill at 16-14 pumped the DAWGS up and started their 9 to 6 run that was highlighted by a couple of Kelli Stewart kills down the stretch at 23-19 and an amazing kill down the right sideline, blistering the Falcons for a 24-20 Magnolia lead. The Lady Falcons tried to make a run, but a net violation dashed any hopes of a comeback and the final score of 25-20 was recorded and in the books. That makes 3 straight sweeps for the DAWGS on their home turf! Break out the brooms!..... Wow, or should I say "Bow wow?"

GREAT JOB LADIES!!

GO LADY BULLDOGS!!
