Lady Bulldogs JV Set the Tone For the Evening

The Lady Bulldogs JV opened their season at the DAWG House in fine fashion by sweeping the Dulles Lady Vikings in 2 straight sets (25-18 and 25-17) and setting the tone for the evening.

Gould (Left) team up to stop Lady Vikings attack.

Magnolia jumped to an early lead in Game 1 at 3-1 and promptly dropped six points before a Katzy Randal kill at 4-7 gave the team revigorated life to come back and make a game of it at 8-8. A few Dulles errors put the Lady DAWGS in front at 11-8, then a Jamie Paulson kill kept the ladies leading the pack at 13-9. An onslought of offensive firepower from Randal and Paulson and a timely dink by Michelle Larson shot the Lady DAWGS by the Dulles JV ladies by a 6 point spread that they maintained until they put a cherry on top at 25-18 to win going away!

Lady Bulldog JV Katzy Randal controlled the front line in the match against Dulles.

In Set 2, Magnolia again got off to a sluggish start with some error prone play and trailed the first quarter of the set until tying it up at 7-7. Once the Lady Dawgs drew even with Dulles, they began to right their own ship while sinking the Lady Vikings at the same time. The Lady Dawg JVs outscored them 10-4 behind a combination of Chelsea Ravscher serving aces, a couple Courtney Filensky blocks, 2 great volleys, a Katzy Randal kill to keep a 5 point edge at 21-16. A couple of generous "out-of-bounds" points by Dulles and a net violation later - the Lady Vikes were on ice, and the Lady Dawg JV team had an impressive notch on their broom handle! SWEEP!

NICELY DONE LADIES!! GREAT START FOR THE JV!!
