DAWGS Sweep 12th Match in a Row

Again, the set started a little slow for the DAWGS as Spring fought hard to stay in this match. After all, it was do-or-die for the Lady Lions.. The ladies kept it close until the score began to open a little at 5-4, then like a runaway train....the Lady Bulldogs again blew the set open with a 10-0 surge that put them on top at 15-4 and not looking back.

Lady Bulldog Michele Williams 'owned' the Spring Lady Lions.

Magnolia's overall strength and experience was apparent and the Lady Lions must've known the end of their season was near. The teams traded points and the score was at 20-9 and Coach J substituted players freely as the set and match ended at 25-14. Solid. The DAWGS may have played better matches before, but credit is due to the Lions who have a scrappy and competitive team who gave it all they had and represented themselves and their school very well.

Coach J huddling the ladies up during a Lion time out.

Michele Williams ended the evening with 10 kills, 2 solo blocks and 2 block assists; Alicia Shaffer had a productive night with 8 kills, 15 Digs and 3 Aces; Jamie Kaleh ended up with 7 kills, 1 block assist, 7 Digs and 4 Aces; Hannah Fort had 6 kills with 1 solo block; Meagan Little had 6 kills; Kelli Stewart had 4 kills, 1 block assist, 4 Digs, and 2 Aces; Hannah Davies had 21 assists and 2 Aces and team mate Paige Holland finished with 13 assists. Again, senior libero Brittany Wheaton led the way with 19 Digs.

Nice win and the Lady Bulldogs maintained their focus. The ladies will be playing in the College Station area on Friday at A & M Consolidated gymnasium. Stay connected to the blog site for details on their opponent, their times, directions, and whatever, details!
