Lady Bulldogs Continue Mauling Lady Lobos

OH Lady Bulldog Alicia Shaffer kept the Lady Lobos off balance and
on their back paws most of the night with her kills and her passing.

Set #2. To be honest Bulldog fans, in this set I kind-of expected a little letdown of sorts from the Lady Bulldogs, after all - they just rolled over Langham Creek in the first set and I just figured the Lobos would not go down easily. Any 'mere mortal' team would begin feeling a little more over-confident and reckless, but I've never been so glad to be so wrong! The Lady Bulldogs were playing magnificently, maintaining a 4 point lead, then stretching it to 6, then 7, then 8....until the Lady Lobos were hopelessly devastated and wondering how these Bulldogs got so good - while their own program..... let's just say: was going into "a rebuilding phase".

The backrow at work: Kristyn Bergen and Alicia Shaffer shown here
flanking senior DS Anna Barren who's getting ready to pass the ball
transitioning the Lady Bulldogs into 'attack' mode.
Caitlin Holland came out in this set all fired up and had some great maneuvers at the right side of the net, scoring a couple of quick points to put the hungry pack of Lobos on the run at 3-1. Suddenly the Lady Bulldogs began to attack from everywhere with a Kelli Stewart ace at 4-1; a backrow bullet from Alicia Shaffer at 6-2; a kill from Michele Williams at 9-4; then a flurry of Hannah Fort points with a kill off the Lobos defenders' hands at 12-7, and a couple of back-to-back blocked points at 12-7 and 13-7.
Holy Frijole, the Lady Bulldogs were now the ones hunting like a pack of wolves!! This file starts at 18-13 and takes us through set 2.
