Lady Bulldogs Snare Lady Tigers

In set #2, the Lady Bulldogs were warmed up and ready to go....and they immediately jumped out of the gate and took off to an 8-1 advantage. The ladies played very well and stretched the lead to 8, 9, and finally 10 points in this one - all behind an assortment of hard hitting attacks, crisp passing, and by controlling the net. The ladies' tally in the earned points' department was impressive starting with a 'stinger' from Michele 'Boom Boom' Williams down the right line at 1-0; a Hannah Fort ace at 2-0; a Kelli Stewart/Boom Boom block assist at 3-0; then a pair of kills at 4-0 and 5-0 by MB Michele Williams wounded the Tigers early enough to know they may be in for an (quick) evening of play, with their "BIG sisters".

Lady Bulldog OHR Kelli Stewart sent a shot across the net as setter
Caitlin Holland (1) and MB Hannah Fort (9) lend their support.

Alicia Shaffer had a backrow kill at 6-1; Michele had a kill in the middle at 8-1 and several plays later a quick-reacting Lady Bulldog OHR Ashlynn Newman who tipped the ball back to the Lady Tigers from their attack, only to have them tip it back quickly, killed the ball with her left hand when it came over the net at 11-5, as if to say "the DAWGS were in control, here..."

Lady Bulldogs Hanah Davies (l) and Kelli Stewart (r)
obdiently await the side judge's approval for rotation.

MB Hannah Fort and OH Alicia Shaffer took Ashlynn's hint and both assisted on a block at 12-5; then a flurry of kills: Alicia at 13-6, Caitlin Holland's ace at 14-6, Hannah again at 15-7, and OH Kristyn Bergen's canon put the Lady Bulldogs firmly on top at 16-8. A few plays later, Michele took control of the game again by a great kill down the left side of the court from the OHL position at 18-10; then another Williams/Shaffer (doesn't this combination of names sound like it could be the name of a funeral home......for Tigers??) block assist at 19-10; and another kill by Michele at 22-13, and the closing of the set was near. It took an Alicia hit off the Lady Tigers' hands and a Hannah Glide to knock the Tigers down for the second time this evening and this time- almost out, at 25-15!

The 'Hannah Fort Fan Club' was out in force tonight
and Hannah gave them plenty to cheer about!

GO LADY BULLDOGS!! "THE POWER OF THE DAWG"
