Message from Coach J….

HOW “SWEEP” IT IS! (AGAIN!)
Every team won their match
against Lufkin in district play on Tuesday! Look for the 3rd broom on display to mark the “sweep”!

The JV and Varsity all defeated The Woodlands on Friday!

Besides finishing the best that Magnolia has ever finished in the Pearland tourney…Here are some interesting facts about the biggest, strongest Vb tournament in the state of Texas (as sent by John Turner, Pearland coach):
1) There were 202 matches played over a three day period in 2006.
2) We had every team competing through the last day of competition.
3) We stayed on time on every court throughout the tournament.
4) The cost of officials for the tournament was a staggering $12,278.00!!!
5) We played almost twice as many matches as any other tournament in the state of Texas.
6) We had the best fans come out and support their teams throughout the tournament.

The JV team is undefeated in district play and on an 8 match winning streak!

The Varsity team is undefeated in district play and has won 10 matches in a row!

I was thinking about how much improvement our team has made this season. Every player on our team works hard every day in practice. Many of these players don’t get recognized as much on game nights, if they don’t get into the game. But, we would not be where we are without those players. They work hard to set for the scout team, play defense and block, provide spirit & a great work ethic, and support their team loudly. Every player on our team plays an important role in our success. I know sometimes everyone doesn’t realize how much goes into a competitive team…it certainly takes a “team effort”!

Look for the district stats tomorrow at the match!

MOVING TOWARD THE PLAYOFFS ONE MATCH AT A TIME!
